Held on May 20–21, 2025, at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, PLMA’s 2025 World of Private Label hosted more than 3,160 exhibitors from 75 countries and welcomed over 30,000 professionals, making it the largest and most influential event in the world of private label products.
A major industry gathering at RAI Amsterdam
The trade show, which kicked off on Tuesday morning, May 20, and concluded on Wednesday, May 21, welcomed over 32,000 industry professionals from more than 120 countries. Spanning 45,000 m² of net exhibition space, the show was spread across 14 halls—9 dedicated to food products and 5 to non-food categories. In addition to the 3,160 exhibitors from 75 countries, there were 71 national and regional pavilions representing 41 nations. Notably, new pavilions debuted this year from Bulgaria, Canada, Morocco, Scotland, and Ukraine.
Product categories and top trends
Visitors experienced a dynamic and vibrant show floor filled with a broad range of private label products across categories including fresh, frozen, and refrigerated foods, dry groceries, beverages, cosmetics, health and beauty products, household goods, kitchenware, garden supplies, and more. Sustainability remained a central focus: 44% of all displayed products had a sustainability claim, with this figure rising to 49% in food categories and 23% in non-food. Meanwhile, 55% of food products addressed specific dietary and lifestyle preferences such as vegan, vegetarian, plant-based, halal, kosher, gluten-free, and organic. The share of organic products was 34% in food and 10% in non-food.
A showcase for innovation: Idea Supermarket and New Product Expo
One of the key highlights of the event was the Idea Supermarket, which featured private label product lines from over 60 supermarkets, hypermarkets, discount chains, pharmacies, and specialty stores from around the world. In the New Product Expo area, nearly 400 new products and packaging innovations were displayed. This section also included all retail items that won the 2025 International PLMA Salute to Excellence Awards. From 25 countries, 65 retailers submitted over 550 products for evaluation—91 of which were recognized with awards for excellence.
Pre-show seminars and knowledge sharing
A day before the event, on May 19, a special seminar program was held featuring presentations by Jumbo Supermarket, NielsenIQ, and Daymon International. Panel discussions and expert-led sessions focused on collaboration strategies, retail growth, and the evolving dynamics of private label. Attendees had the opportunity to assess key market trends and explore successful business models.
Strong representation from Türkiye
The trade show also featured significant participation from Turkish companies. Especially in the food, cleaning, and personal care segments, Turkish exhibitors drew considerable interest from European visitors. With their strong production capabilities and flexible service models, Turkish private label suppliers stood out. Many firms reported making valuable business connections aimed at expanding their footprint in the European market.
