The Turkish chemical industry, which broke a new record with its exports of 25.4 billion dollars in 2021, set its targets in line with its 2030 vision. Announcing his candidacy for President again for the next term of office at İKMİB, Adil Pelister stated that with an export target of 40 billion dollars, they will establish a new ecosystem that will carry the Turkish chemical industry into the future in global trade and lead the digital transformation in the industry.
Giving the good news that they started the “Chemistry Technology Center” project, which will be a first in Turkey in line with its vision of developing high-tech and high-value-added domestic products, Pelister said that they will continue to carry their technology to all over the world with the “Made in Turkey” quality as the locomotive sector of exports.
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors, BETA Kimya A.Ş. announced his candidacy again for the umbrella organization of Turkish chemical exports, Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association İKMİB, for the new term.
Pelister: “We kept our promise and paved the way for our chemical exporters”
Stating that they started to work with a strong board of directors after the 2018 election and that they are proud of keeping their promises to the chemical exporter, Adil Pelister said, “As soon as we took office, we fulfilled our promise to lower the upper limit of the Green Passport right granted to our exporters. With the initiatives we made at our ministries, we pioneered the reduction of the export limit to 500 thousand dollars and extended the passport period from 2 to 4 years. We prepared our “Turkish Chemical Industry Investment Priority Products” report in order to reduce the import dependency of our chemical industry in raw materials and semi-finished products and to increase domestic and national production. And happily; We have proudly ensured that 98 of the 103 product groups that we give strategic priority in investment are included in the ‘Technology-Oriented Industry Move Health and Chemical Products Support Program’ of our Ministry of Industry and Technology. We brought together the purchasing committees of many big companies from all over the world with our chemical exporters. With our R&D and Ur-Ge groups, we supported important projects that will increase production and exports. As we promised, we achieved the permanent second place of chemistry in exports and reached the record export figures of the history of the Republic. As the Chemistry family, we achieved this leap together. In the upcoming period, we will take strategic steps to carry our industry into the future with the aim of generating high added value in chemistry. With our 2030 vision, we will carry chemistry exports to the future and we will succeed together again.”
Pelister: “We will establish a new chemistry ecosystem with the Chemical Technology Center”
Pointing out that they will lay the foundations of a new model for digital transformation and high technology-based value-added products in the chemical industry, Adil Pelister said, “The chemical industry is one of the most strategic areas for the future of our country and the world. Chemistry has a footprint in every aspect of life, from defense to automotive, energy to health, and even food. Especially recently, when talking about artificial intelligence and even virtual universe concepts, we now see the impact of high technology and digital transformation in all components of the chemical industry worldwide. In the light of these developments, we are implementing a new project that will host the change and transformation of our industry. We are preparing to establish a new generation chemistry ecosystem with the ‘Chemistry Technology Center’, which will add strength to the power of the Turkish chemical industry and will be a first for our country.
Thanks to the ‘International Accredited Reference Laboratory Services’, ‘Digital Library’, ‘Export Development Center’ and ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship and R&D Center’ that we will establish within the Chemistry Technology Center to be located in the IT Valley, we will bring together 4 different disciplines in a single center. The Chemical Technology Center will act as a technology base that will cross the threshold for our chemical industry and exports.”
Pelister: “Our sustainability action plan is ready for the future of chemistry and global success in exports”
Emphasizing that with the implementation of the Chemical Technology Center project, the chemistry industry will jump the threshold and a new era will begin in chemistry exports, Pelister said, “We will open a test, analysis and certification center equipped with highly advanced devices, where internationally accredited analyzes and tests can be performed faster and at less cost in Turkey. In this way, a source of 12 million dollars will remain in the country every year. The ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship and R&D Center’ that we will establish within KTM will be a center of attraction for start-ups focusing on new generation products and projects with high added value, where they will spend their incubation period. Within the framework of University-Industry cooperation, we will bring together our academics and students around the same table for new discoveries in chemistry. In our Export Promotion Center department, we have designed a structure where our exporters and especially our SMEs can access information and receive consultancy in many fields from international regulations to logistics. With the Digital Library, we will transfer all scientific publications, printed and visual works, especially the chemistry sector, to digital media. We will make this unique resource available to our industry and all our researchers.
In summary; We have generated a sustainability-oriented action plan that will generate permanent value for our chemical industry and our exports, which is the golden key to growth. The establishment of the Turkish Chemistry Agency will also be one of our priority agendas. In the coming period, we will continue to work for Turkey and achieve success together with our exporters within the scope of this plan.”
